पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री भारत रत्न स्वर्गीय राजीव गांधी की जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में शहर ब्लॉक कांग्रेस कमेटी द्वारा सोमवार को तिलक भवन में एक विचार गोष्ठी आयोजित की गई।
गोष्ठी में वक्ताओं ने राजीव गांधी के योगदान को याद करते हुए उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की और उनके विचारों को वर्तमान संदर्भ में प्रासंगिक बताया।

मुख्य वक्ता पूर्व कैबिनेट मंत्री नवप्रभात ने कहा कि भारत में डिजिटल और संचार क्रांति की नींव राजीव गांधी ने रखी थी, जिसकी बदौलत देश आज वैश्विक डिजिटल मंच पर अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज करा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि पंचायती राज में आम जन की भागीदारी, 18 वर्ष की आयु में मताधिकार, महिला सशक्तिकरण और आतंकवाद के विरुद्ध कठोर नीति राजीव गांधी की दूरदर्शिता को दर्शाती है।

कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता ब्लॉक अध्यक्ष अभिनव ठाकुर ने की और संचालन प्रदेश सचिव विकास शर्मा ने किया।

कार्यक्रम में पीसीसी सदस्य संजय जैन, पूर्व मंडी समिति अध्यक्ष विपुल जैन, नगर पालिका अध्यक्ष धीरज नौटियाल, महिला कांग्रेस प्रदेश सचिव बिना चौहान, सभासद भारत कालरा, डाकपत्थर अध्यक्ष सुरेंद्र शर्मा, पूर्व प्रधान इमरान, तथा सेवादल के सुंदर सिंह चौहान सहित अन्य नेताओं ने भी अपने विचार रखे।
