पांवटा साहिब के रामलीला ग्राउंड में 79वां स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया गया। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता एसडीएम गुंजीत चीमा ने की। इस अवसर पर कोटडी व्यास की चार प्रतिभाशाली छात्राएँ – रूबी, स्नेहा, जोया और अंकिता – को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर रगबी में गोल्ड मेडल जीतने और हैंडबॉल की राज्य व राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में लगातार बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने के लिए विशेष सम्मान से नवाजा गया। वहीं खेलों के क्षेत्र में उल्लेखनीय योगदान देने पर कोटडी व्यास के शारीरिक शिक्षक धर्मेंद्र चौधरी को भी विशेष उपलब्धि अवार्ड दिया गया।

उनके मार्गदर्शन में पिछले तीन वर्षों में 125 छात्र-छात्राओं ने राज्य स्तरीय प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लिया, जिनमें कई ने मेडल हासिल किए। पिछले एक वर्ष में ही 44 छात्र राज्य स्तर और 12 छात्र राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक पहुँचे। धर्मेंद्र चौधरी पिछले वर्ष शिक्षा विभाग की ओर से सिंगापुर शैक्षणिक यात्रा भी कर चुके हैं।सम्मान मिलने पर छात्राओं व उनके अभिभावकों ने खुशी जाहिर की और सभी का आभार व्यक्त किया। पंचायत प्रधान सुरेश कुमार, एसएमसी प्रधान मान सिंह सहित अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों व विद्यालय स्टाफ ने भी खिलाड़ियों और कोच को इस उपलब्धि पर बधाई दी।

The 79th Independence Day celebrations were held with great pomp at the Ramlila Ground in Paonta Sahib. The program was presided over by SDM Gunjit Cheema. On this occasion, four talented students of Kotdi Vyas – Ruby, Sneha, Zoya and Ankita – were awarded special honors for winning gold medals in rugby at the national level and consistently performing well in state and national handball competitions. Kotdi Vyas’s physical education teacher Dharmendra Chaudhary was also given a special achievement award for his remarkable contribution in the field of sports.

Under his guidance, in the last three years 125 students have participated in state level competitions, in which many won medals. In the last one year alone, 44 students reached the state level and 12 students reached the national level. Dharmendra Chaudhary has also gone on an educational trip to Singapore last year on behalf of the Education Department. On receiving the honour, the students and their parents expressed happiness and thanked everyone. Panchayat head Suresh Kumar, SMC head Man Singh along with other dignitaries and school staff also congratulated the players and the coach on this achievement.
