प्रदेश में बीपीएल परिवारों के चयन का आधार बदला जा रहा है, ताकि अधिक से अधिक परिवारों को इसमें शामिल किया जा सके। मुख्यमंत्री ने बीपीएल परिवारों के चयन का दायरा बढ़ाने के लिए ग्रामीण विकास विभाग को निर्देश दिए हैं। सरकार को इस श्रेणी में अधिक से अधिक परिवारों को शामिल करने के लिए लोगों से अनेक सुझाव मिल रहे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने यह भी निर्देश दिए हैं कि यदि किसी परिवार ने राज्य व केंद्र सरकार की आवास योजना के तहत पक्के मकान की सुविधा ले ली है तो भी उस परिवार को बीपीएल श्रेणी में रखा जाएगा। 27 वर्ष तक की आयु के अनाथ बच्चों, ऐसे परिवार जिनकी मुखिया महिला हो, लेकिन 25 वर्ष से 59 वर्ष की आयु के बीच कोई वयस्क सदस्य न हो, इन्हें भी बीपीएल परिवार की श्रेणी में लाया जाए। 40 फीसदी से अधिक दिव्यांग, डायलिसिस करवाने वाले, हेपटाटाइटस-बी, एचआईवी इत्यादि गंभीर बीमारियों से ग्रस्त और दुर्घटना में रीढ़ की हड्डी टूटने वाले व्यक्ति को बीपीएल श्रेणी में लाने के निर्देश।

The basis of selection of BPL families in the state is being changed so that more and more families can be included in it. Chief Minister has directed the Rural Development Department to increase the scope of selection of BPL families. The government is getting many suggestions from the people to include more and more families in this category. The Chief Minister has also directed that if a family has availed the facility of a concrete house under the housing scheme of the state and central government, then that family will also be kept in the BPL category. Orphan children up to the age of 27 years, families whose head is a woman but there is no adult member between the age of 25 years to 59 years, they should also be brought in the category of BPL families. Instructions have been given to bring more than 40 percent disabled people, people undergoing dialysis, suffering from serious diseases like Hepatitis-B, HIV etc. and people who have broken their spine in an accident in the BPL category.
