मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने आज विभाजन विभीषिका स्मृति दिवस के अवसर पर काशीपुर में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में वर्चुअल माध्यम से प्रतिभाग किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने विभाजन स्मृति स्मारक स्थल का शिलान्यास करते हुए देश के विभाजन का दंश झेलने वाले करोड़ों लोगों को नमन किया।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि 14 अगस्त 1947 का दिन भारतीय इतिहास का सबसे दर्दनाक दिन था, जब मजहबी आधार पर भारत को दो हिस्सों में बाँट दिया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि जब पूरा देश आजादी का जश्न मनाने की तैयारी कर रहा था, उससे ठीक एक दिन पहले करोड़ों लोगों को अपने घर, जमीन-जायदाद, रोज़गार और परिजनों से बिछुड़ कर शरणार्थी बनने को मजबूर होना पड़ा।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि विभाजन की त्रासदी में जिन परिवारों ने अपने प्रियजनों को खोया, उनकी पीड़ा आज भी आँखों में झलकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि उन लोगों के त्याग और बलिदान की भरपाई संभव नहीं है, लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में वर्ष 2021 से 14 अगस्त को “विभाजन विभीषिका स्मरण दिवस” के रूप में मनाने का निर्णय लिया गया, जिससे आने वाली पीढ़ियाँ अपने पूर्वजों के बलिदान को जान सकें और याद रख सकें।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री के निर्णायक नेतृत्व में धारा 370 की समाप्ति, ट्रिपल तलाक की समाप्ति, सीएए और वक्फ संशोधन जैसे फैसलों से ‘एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत’ की परिकल्पना को मजबूती मिली है। 1984 के दंगा पीड़ितों को न्याय दिलाने की दिशा में भी ऐतिहासिक कदम उठाए गए हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड सरकार राज्य की सांस्कृतिक पहचान और जनसंख्या संतुलन को बनाए रखने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। प्रदेश में सख्त धर्मांतरण विरोधी और दंगा विरोधी कानून लागू किए गए हैं। साथ ही, 7,000 एकड़ से अधिक सरकारी भूमि को अतिक्रमण से मुक्त कराया गया है।
