15 अगस्त को शिमला के ऐतिहासिक रिज मैदान पर जिला स्तरीय स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह का आयोजन होगा, जिसकी अध्यक्षता उप मुख्यमंत्री मुकेश अग्निहोत्री करेंगे। जिला प्रशासन के अनुसार, कार्यक्रम का आगाज़ ध्वजारोहण के साथ होगा, जिसके बाद परेड की सलामी ली जाएगी। इस अवसर पर बॉयज कॉलेज के छात्रों सहित चयनित पांच कॉलेजों के विद्यार्थी सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियां देंगे। समारोह की तैयारियां जोरों पर हैं—पुलिस, होमगार्ड और एनसीसी कैडेट्स लगातार पूर्वाभ्यास कर रहे हैं। मंगलवार को हल्की बारिश के बावजूद भी प्रतिभागियों का उत्साह कम नहीं हुआ और वे पूरी निष्ठा से अभ्यास में जुटे रहे।

On August 15, a district-level Independence Day function will be organised at the historic Ridge ground in Shimla, which will be presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. According to the district administration, the programme will begin with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the parade salute. On this occasion, students of five selected colleges, including the Boys College, will give cultural performances. Preparations for the function are in full swing—the police, home guards and NCC cadets are continuously rehearsing. Despite light rain on Tuesday, the enthusiasm of the participants did not wane and they continued to practice with full devotion.
