शहर के बीचों-बीच बसे वार्ड नंबर वार्ड नंबर 5 और 7 के लोग इस समय नरकीय जीवन जीने को मजबूर हैं। यहां की हालत वर्षों से जस की तस बनी हुई है। टूटी सड़कों, गंदे नाले, पानी की किल्लत और बढ़ते कुत्तों के आतंक ने लोगों का जीना दूभर कर दिया है। स्थानीय निवासियों का कहना है कि वार्ड के बीच से गुजरने वाला नाला पूरे शहर की गंदगी और कचरे का अड्डा बन चुका है। इससे उठने वाली बदबू, मच्छर और मक्खियों के कारण लोगों को बीमारियों का खतरा हर वक्त बना रहता है। आज भी यहां पक्की सड़क का नामोनिशान नहीं है। तीन पीढ़ियों से लोग बिना सड़क के रह रहे हैं। एमरजेंसी स्थिति में न तो एम्बुलेंस आ सकती है और न ही फायर ब्रिगेड। कचरा वाहन भी आधे रास्ते से लौट जाती है। नगर परिषद की कचरा गाड़ी पूरी बस्ती में नहीं जाती, जिससे मजबूरी में लोग अपना कचरा खुले नाले में फेंकते हैं। बरसात के दिनों में यह गंदा पानी घरों में घुस जाता है, जिससे स्थिति और गंभीर हो जाती है।

स्थानीय लोग बताते हैं कि हर चुनाव में पार्षद वादा करते हैं कि नाले को ढका जाएगा और सड़क बनेगी, लेकिन काम शुरू तक नहीं होता। वार्ड 5 के कई घरों में नल की सुविधा अब तक नहीं है। वहीं, नाले के पास आवारा कुत्तों की संख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है। कई लोगों को यह कुत्ते घायल कर चुके हैं, लेकिन कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हो रही। एचडी इंपॉर्टेंट साइट ने बातचीत में बताया गया कि जल्द ही इस मुद्दे को लेकर बैठक बुलाई जाएगी और स्थायी समाधान निकाला जाएगा। यह क्षेत्र अब शासन की अनदेखी और जनता की मजबूरी का प्रतीक बन चुका है। अब सवाल उठता है कि क्या प्रशासन इस बार कोई ठोस कदम उठाएगा या फिर लोग अगला चुनाव और नए वादों का इंतज़ार करते रहेंगे।

Local residents say that the drain passing through the middle of the ward has become a hub of filth and garbage of the entire city. Due to the stench, mosquitoes and flies emanating from it, people are always at risk of diseases. Even today there is no trace of a paved road here. People have been living without a road for three generations. In case of emergency, neither the ambulance nor the fire brigade can come. The garbage vehicle also returns halfway. The garbage vehicle of the Nagar Parishad does not go to the entire colony, due to which people are forced to throw their garbage in the open drain. During rainy days, this dirty water enters the houses, which makes the situation even more serious.

Local people say that in every election the councillors promise that the drain will be covered and the road will be built, but the work does not even start. Many houses in Ward 5 do not have tap facilities yet. At the same time, the number of stray dogs near the drain is continuously increasing. These dogs have injured many people, but no action is being taken.
