डॉ. वाईएस परमार मेडिकल कॉलेज एवं अस्पताल नाहन में बुधवार को मरीजों को उपचार करवाने में दिक्कतें झेलनी पड़ीं। लगभग सभी ओपीडी में मरीजों की भारी भीड़ रही। खासकर मेडिसिन, आर्थो और गायनी ओपीडी में मरीजों को उपचार के लिए लंबा इंतजार करना पड़ा। दरअसल, मेडिकल कॉलेज नाहन में विभिन्न विभागों में कार्यरत 50 फीसदी चिकित्सक बुधवार से दो सप्ताह के शीतकालीन अवकाश पर हैं। मेडिकल कॉलेज में 100 के करीब पद स्वीकृत हैं, लेकिन इनमें से 40 के करीब पद पहले ही रिक्त चल रहे हैं। ग्रीष्मकालीन अवकाश पर जाने के बाद अब शेष चिकित्सक पूरे अस्पताल में रोगियों का उपचार व अन्य कार्य देख रहे हैं।
सबसे अधिक परेशानी औषधि, सर्जरी, नेत्र और गायनी ओपीडी और वार्डों में हो रही है। बरसात के मौसम के चलते संक्रमण, वायरल, डेंगू, स्क्रब टायफस, नेत्र और जलजनित रोगों से होने वाली बीमारियों के मरीज ज्यादा संख्या में उपचार के लिए पहुंच रहे हैं। ओपीडी में सुबह से ही उपचार के लिए लंबी कतार लगी रहीं। बुधवार को ओटी होने के कारण समस्या और बढ़ गई। पेट दर्द के चलते उपचार के लिए पहुंचे निहोग के राम सिंह ने कहाकि वह सुबह से ओपीडी के बाहर अपनी बारी का इंतजार कर रहे हैं। दो घंटे बाद उसका नंबर आया। उसके बाद टेस्ट के लिए लिखा गया। कलसेर से आए जयपाल ने बताया उन्हें उन्हें बुखार व दर्द की शिकायत है। दोपहर बाद तक उन्हें उपचार के लिए इंतजार करना पड़ा। अस्पताल में औसतन 1 हजार से 1,150 तक की ओपीडी रहती है।

Patients had to face difficulties in getting treatment on Wednesday at Dr. YS Parmar Medical College and Hospital, Nahan. There was a huge crowd of patients in almost all the OPDs. Especially in the Medicine, Ortho and Gynecology OPDs, patients had to wait for a long time for treatment. Actually, 50 percent of the doctors working in various departments of Medical College Nahan are on a two week winter vacation from Wednesday. Around 100 posts are sanctioned in the medical college, but around 40 of these posts are already vacant. After going on summer vacation, now the remaining doctors are treating patients and looking after other work in the entire hospital.
Most of the problems are being faced in the OPDs and wards of medicine, surgery, eye and gynecology. Due to the rainy season, patients suffering from infections, viral, dengue, scrub typhus, eye and waterborne diseases are reaching in large numbers for treatment. There were long queues for treatment in the OPD since morning. The problem increased further due to OT on Wednesday. Ram Singh of Nihog, who reached for treatment due to stomach ache, said that he was waiting for his turn outside the OPD since morning. His turn came after two hours. After that he was written for the test. Jaipal, who came from Kalser, said that he is complaining of fever and pain. He had to wait for treatment till afternoon. The average OPD in the hospital is between 1 thousand to 1,150.
