जिला मुख्यालय स्थित सरकारी बालिका वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय, नाहन को भारत सरकार की महत्वाकांक्षी योजना पीएम-श्री (प्रधानमंत्री स्कूल्स फॉर राइजिंग इंडिया) के अंतर्गत सिरमौर जिले का सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्कूल घोषित किया गया है। इसकी घोषणा केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान द्वारा नई दिल्ली स्थित भारत मंडपम में आयोजित अखिल भारतीय शिक्षा संगम के दौरान की गई। इस अवसर पर देश भर के कई स्कूल इस कार्यक्रम से वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से जुड़े हुए थे, जिनमें नाहन का यह कन्या विद्यालय भी शामिल था। वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में विधायक अजय सोलंकी तथा विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या डॉ. आशिमा राघव उपस्थित रहीं। पीएम-श्री योजना के अंतर्गत चयनित स्कूलों को आधुनिक कंप्यूटर लैब्स, भौतिकी, रसायन और जीवविज्ञान की प्रयोगशालाएं, समृद्ध पुस्तकालय, खेल सुविधाएं, तथा कौशल विकास शिक्षा जैसी अत्याधुनिक सुविधाएं प्रदान की जाती हैं।

नाहन स्थित इस सरकारी बालिका विद्यालय में ये सभी सुविधाएं पहले से उपलब्ध हैं, जिसके चलते इसे सिरमौर जिले का सर्वश्रेष्ठ पीएम-श्री स्कूल चुना गया। इस दौरान विधायक अजय सोलंकी ने स्कूल की इस उपलब्धि के लिए स्कूल की प्रधानाचार्य व बच्चों को बधाई दी और उनके उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना की। उन्होंने कहा कि वह आशा करते है कि सिरमौर के सभी स्कूल इससे प्रेरणा लेकर आगे बढ़ेंगे और इसी तरह की उपलब्धियां हासिल करेंगे। गौरतलब है कि भारत सरकार ने 7 सितंबर 2022 को पीएम-श्री योजना की शुरुआत की थी, जिसका उद्देश्य देशभर में 14,500 से अधिक स्कूलों को मॉडल स्कूल के रूप में विकसित करना है। यह योजना राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति 2020 के तहत गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा, आधुनिक संसाधनों की उपलब्धता और समावेशी शैक्षिक वातावरण सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम मानी जा रही है।

Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nahan, located at the district headquarters, has been declared the best school of Sirmaur district under the ambitious scheme of the Government of India, PM-Shri (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India). This was announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during the All India Education Confluence organized at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. On this occasion, many schools across the country were connected to this program through video conferencing, including this girls school of Nahan. MLA Ajay Solanki and Principal of the school Dr. Ashima Raghav were present in this program organized through video conference. Under the PM-Shri scheme, the selected schools are provided with state-of-the-art facilities like modern computer labs, physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, rich library, sports facilities, and skill development education.

All these facilities are already available in this government girls school located in Nahan, due to which it was selected as the best PM-Shri school in Sirmaur district. During this, MLA Ajay Solanki congratulated the Principal and the children of the school for this achievement of the school and wished them a bright future. He said that he hopes that all the schools of Sirmaur will move forward taking inspiration from this and achieve similar achievements. It is worth noting that the Government of India launched the PM-Shri scheme on 7 September 2022, which aims to develop more than 14,500 schools across the country as model schools. This scheme is considered a big step towards ensuring quality education, availability of modern resources and inclusive educational environment under the National Education Policy 2020.
