भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन पांवटा साहिब व शिलाई क्षेत्र द्वारा कारगिल विजय दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में अमर शहीद स्मारक स्थल पर एक गरिमामय समारोह का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में पूर्व मंत्री एवं स्थानीय विधायक सुखराम चौधरी तथा तहसीलदार ऋषभ शर्मा उपस्थित रहे। समारोह की शुरुआत सुबह 11 बजे ध्वजारोहण से हुई, जिसके उपरांत शहीद स्मारक पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की गई। वीरनारियों, स्थानीय नागरिकों, पूर्व सैनिकों तथा स्कूली छात्रों की उपस्थिति में राष्ट्रगान एवं देशभक्ति नारों से वातावरण गूंज उठा। इसके पश्चात किसान भवन में आयोजित सभा में विधायक सुखराम चौधरी ने वीरनारियों को शॉल व स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट कर सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने कारगिल युद्ध में सैनिकों के अदम्य साहस और सर्वोच्च बलिदान को नमन करते हुए आश्वस्त किया कि सैनिकों व उनके परिजनों की समस्याओं का शीघ्र समाधान किया जाएगा।

संगठन अध्यक्ष करनैल सिंह ने युवाओं को राष्ट्र सेवा हेतु प्रेरित किया और सैनिकों के सम्मान व कल्याण के लिए संगठन की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। विधायक ने बनौर गांव व भरली गांव में निर्माणाधीन शहीद स्मारकों की प्रगति का उल्लेख करते हुए संबंधित स्कूलों के नामकरण की भी मांग सरकार से की। कार्यक्रम में बीडीसी चेयरमैन हितेंद्र, नगरपालिका अध्यक्षा निर्मल कौर, जिला अध्यक्ष धीरज गुप्ता, मंडल अध्यक्ष रमेश तोमर, संगठन के पदाधिकारी — उपाध्यक्ष हरिंदर सिंह, सचिव ओमप्रकाश चौहान, कोषाध्यक्ष नरेश कुमार, सोशल मीडिया प्रभारी हरजीत सिंह, कानूनी सलाहकार विरेन्द्र चौहान सहित बड़ी संख्या में भूतपूर्व सैनिक, वीरनारियां व गणमान्य व्यक्ति उपस्थित रहे।संगठन वर्षों से क्षेत्र के सैनिक परिवारों की समस्याओं के समाधान, शहीद स्मारकों के रखरखाव, सीएसडी-ईसीएचएस सुविधाएं तथा केंद्रीय विद्यालय की मांग को लेकर सक्रिय रहा है। कारगिल विजय दिवस पर शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित कर यह संकल्प दोहराया गया कि उनके बलिदान को कभी भुलाया नहीं जाएगा।

Ex-servicemen association Paonta Sahib and Shillai area organized a dignified ceremony at Amar Shaheed Smarak Sthal on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Former minister and local MLA Sukhram Chaudhary and Tehsildar Rishabh Sharma were present as the chief guests in the program. The ceremony started with flag hoisting at 11 am, after which floral tributes were paid at the martyr’s memorial. In the presence of Veernaris, local citizens, ex-servicemen and school students, the atmosphere reverberated with the national anthem and patriotic slogans. After this, in the meeting organized at Kisan Bhawan, MLA Sukhram Chaudhary honored the Veernaris by presenting them shawls and mementos. Saluting the indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers in the Kargil war, he assured that the problems of the soldiers and their families will be resolved soon.

Organization President Karnail Singh inspired the youth to serve the nation and reiterated the organization’s commitment to the honor and welfare of the soldiers. The MLA, while mentioning the progress of the martyr memorials under construction in Banour village and Bharali village, also demanded from the government to name the respective schools. BDC Chairman Hitendra, Municipal Council President Nirmal Kaur, District President Dheeraj Gupta, Mandal President Ramesh Tomar, Organization officials – Vice President Harinder Singh, Secretary Omprakash Chauhan, Treasurer Naresh Kumar, Social Media Incharge Harjeet Singh, Legal Advisor Virendra Chauhan, along with a large number of ex-servicemen, Veernaris and dignitaries were present in the program. The organization has been active for years in resolving the problems of the military families of the area, maintenance of martyr memorials, CSD-ECHS facilities and the demand for Kendriya Vidyalaya. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, tributes were paid to the martyrs and the resolution was reiterated that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
