राज्य में बढ़ती प्राकृतिक आपदा की घटनाओं का अध्ययन करने के लिए राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण के सलाहकार के.पी. सिंह नेतृत्व में शिमला पहुंची केंद्रीय टीम ने मुख्य सचिव प्रमोद सक्सेना एवं अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव के. के. पंत के साथ बैठक की। बैठक प्रदेश में प्राकृतिक आपदाओं की बढ़ती घटनाओं का अध्ययन करने उसे निदान की रणनीति को लेकर प्रमुखता से चर्चा हुई। बैठक के दौरान मुख्य सचिव ने राज्य में बादल फटने अचानक बाढ़ भूस्खलन और मूसलाधार बारिश की घटनाएं लगातार बढ़ रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि पहाड़ी राज्य के सामने आपदाओं राहत कार्यों और पुनर्वास को लेकर अलग और गंभीर चुनौतियां होती है, इसलिए आज जरूरी है कि आपदाओं के कारणों की गहराई से जांच होनी चाहिए। केंद्रीय टीम में सी .एस.आई.आर.-सी.बी.आर.आई. रुड़की के मुख्य वैज्ञानिक डॉ एसके नेगी, मणिपुर विश्वविद्यालय के सेवानिवृत्त भू- वैज्ञानिक प्रोफेसर अरुण कुमार मुख्य रूप से शामिल रहे। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के निर्देश पर यह टीम आपदा प्रभावित क्षेत्र का दौरा करने के बाद एक सप्ताह के भीतर गृह मंत्रालय के आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग को अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपेंगी।

The central team, which reached Shimla under the leadership of National Disaster Management Authority Advisor K.P. Singh to study the increasing incidents of natural disasters in the state, held a meeting with Chief Secretary Pramod Saxena and Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant. The meeting mainly discussed the strategy to study the increasing incidents of natural disasters in the state and to resolve them. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that incidents of cloudburst, sudden floods, landslides and torrential rains are continuously increasing in the state. He said that the hill state faces different and serious challenges regarding disaster relief work and rehabilitation, so today it is necessary that the causes of disasters should be investigated in depth. The central team mainly included Dr. SK Negi, Chief Scientist of CSIR-CBRI Roorkee, and Professor Arun Kumar, retired geologist of Manipur University. On the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, this team will submit its report to the Disaster Management Department of the Home Ministry within a week after visiting the disaster affected area.
