जिला सिरमौर पुलिस ने नशा तस्करों के विरुद्ध चलाए जा रहे विशेष अभियान के तहत एक बड़ी सफलता हासिल की है। पुलिस ने गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर दो युवकों को 8.4 ग्राम स्मैक (हेरोइन) के साथ गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपी बाइक के टूल बॉक्स में नशे की खेप छुपाकर ले जा रहे थे। पुलिस से प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार, यह कार्रवाई पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र के बद्रीपुर में उस समय की गई जब पुलिस टीम नियमित गश्त पर थी। गुप्त सूचना मिली कि भगवानपुर निवासी अदरीश और मिश्रवाला निवासी शमशेर अली हथनीकुंड से पांवटा साहिब की ओर आ रहे हैं और उनके पास अवैध समैक है। इस पर पुलिस ने तुरंत यमुनानगर रोड पर नाकाबंदी की।

मोटरसाइकिल (HP17G-5848, स्प्लेंडर) को रोका गया और पूछताछ में चालक ने अपना नाम अदरीश पुत्र नूर मोहम्मद, जबकि पीछे बैठे व्यक्ति ने अपना नाम शमशेर अली पुत्र रोशन अली बताया। जब पुलिस ने बाइक की तलाशी ली तो टूल बॉक्स से प्लास्टिक के लिफाफे में 8.4 ग्राम समैक बरामद की गई। दोनों आरोपियों को मौके पर ही गिरफ्तार कर उनके खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धाराओं में मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया है। इसके बाद उन्हें अदालत में पेश किया गया, जहां से उन्हें तीन दिन के पुलिस रिमांड पर भेजा गया है। पुलिस यह पता लगाने में जुटी है कि यह समैक कहां से लाई गई थी और इसे कहां सप्लाई किया जाना था। जिला पुलिस अधीक्षक ने एक बार फिर नशे के खिलाफ सख्त रुख अपनाने की बात दोहराई है और जनता से अपील की है कि नशे से जुड़ी किसी भी सूचना को तुरंत पुलिस के साथ साझा करें।

Sirmaur Police has achieved a major success under the special campaign being run against drug smugglers. On the basis of secret information, the police have arrested two youths with 8.4 grams of smack (heroin). The accused were carrying the consignment of drugs hidden in the tool box of the bike. According to information received from the police, this action was taken in Badripur of Paonta Sahib area when the police team was on regular patrol. Secret information was received that Adrish, resident of Bhagwanpur and Shamsher Ali, resident of Mishrawala are coming from Hathnikund towards Paonta Sahib and they have illegal smack. On this, the police immediately blocked the Yamunanagar road.

The motorcycle (HP17G-5848, Splendor) was stopped and on interrogation the driver revealed his name as Adrish son of Noor Mohammad, while the pillion rider revealed his name as Shamsher Ali son of Roshan Ali. When the police searched the bike, 8.4 grams of Sumac was recovered from the tool box in a plastic envelope. Both the accused were arrested on the spot and a case was registered against them under the sections of the NDPS Act. After this, they were produced in the court, from where they were sent on three-day police remand. The police is trying to find out where this Sumac was brought from and where it was to be supplied. The District Superintendent of Police has once again reiterated the need to take a tough stand against drugs and has appealed to the public to immediately share any information related to drugs with the police.
