शिक्षा मंत्री रोहित ठाकुर ने 6 करोड़ 69 लाख रुपए की लागत से निर्मित 5600 टन क्षमता वाले सेब ग्रेडिंग और पैकिंग हाउस का उद्घाटन अपनी विधानसभा क्षेत्र कुठाड़ी पंचायत में किया गया। यह निर्माण एचपीएमसी के अंतर्गत वर्ल्ड बैंक की सहायता से पूरा किया गया। इस योजना के तहत एक करोड़ 1ं135 करोड रुपए स्वीकृत हुए थे, जिसके अंतर्गत शिमला जिला के सेब बहुलक इलाके रोहडू, कुमारसैन, और गुमा में कोल्ड स्टोर का निर्माण हुआ है। शिक्षा मंत्री रोहित ठाकुर ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया, शिमला जिला सेब बहुलक इलाके के रूप में अपनी पहचान प्रदेश में नहीं देश में बना चुका है। आय का भी मुख्य साधन बागवानी ही है। इसलिए इस दिशा में समय के साथ तकनीक के साथ जोड़ना अनिवार्य है, ताकि फसलों का उचित मूल्य मिल सके। प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा इस दिशा में अनेक महत्वपूर्ण कार्य किए गए हैं, जिसमें यूनिवर्सल कार्टन कल लागू करना बागवानों के हित के लिए ऐतिहासिक और प्रभावी निर्णय है।

Education Minister Rohit Thakur inaugurated apple grading and packing house with 5600 tonne capacity, built at a cost of Rs 6 crore 69 lakh, in his assembly constituency Kuthari Panchayat. This construction was completed with the help of World Bank under HPMC. Rs 1 crore 1135 crore was sanctioned under this scheme, under which cold storage has been constructed in apple polygon areas of Shimla district Rohru, Kumarsain, and Guma. Giving information, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said, Shimla district has made its identity as an apple polygon area not only in the state but in the country. Horticulture is also the main source of income. Therefore, it is necessary to connect with technology with time in this direction, so that the crops can get a fair price. Many important works have been done by the state government in this direction, in which implementing the Universal Carton Kal is a historic and effective decision for the benefit of gardeners.
