जटोन बैराज में तैनात कर्मचारियों ने सुबह 6:20 बजे जिला आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण को सूचना दी कि जलस्तर खतरे की सीमा के करीब पहुंच चुका है। इसके मात्र 10 मिनट बाद सुबह 6:30 बजे बैराज से पानी छोड़ दिया गया। गिरि नदी के जलस्तर में लगातार बढ़ोतरी से आसपास के क्षेत्रों में अलर्ट जारी कर दिया गया है। प्रशासन ने चेतावनी दी है कि लोग नदी किनारे न जाएं, क्योंकि तेज बहाव और जलस्तर में अचानक वृद्धि से बाढ़ जैसी स्थिति उत्पन्न हो सकती है। साथ ही, बारिश के कारण पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में भूस्खलन की आशंका भी बनी हुई है, जो जनसुरक्षा के लिए खतरा बन सकता है। गिरि नदी में जलस्तर बढ़ने की मुख्य वजह सिरमौर और इसके ऊपरी इलाकों में लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश है। प्रशासन ने सभी संबंधित विभागों को अलर्ट पर रखा है और किसी भी आपात स्थिति से निपटने के लिए आवश्यक तैयारियां कर ली गई हैं।

The staff posted at Jaton Barrage informed the District Disaster Management Authority at 6:20 am that the water level had reached close to the danger limit. Just 10 minutes later, at 6:30 am, water was released from the barrage. An alert has been issued in the surrounding areas due to the continuous rise in the water level of the Giri river. The administration has warned people not to go to the river bank, as a flood-like situation can arise due to strong currents and sudden rise in water level. Also, there is a possibility of landslides in the hilly areas due to rain, which can pose a threat to public safety. The main reason for the rise in the water level in the Giri river is the continuous heavy rain in Sirmaur and its upper areas. The administration has put all the concerned departments on alert and necessary preparations have been made to deal with any emergency.
