पुलिस थाना कंडाघाट की टीम ने गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर 12 वर्षों से फरार चल रहे भगोड़े आरोपी को उत्तराखंड की राजधानी देहरादून से गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। आरोपी की पहचान गणेश सहानी (36) पुत्र सुवाई सहानी, निवासी गांव डीही, डाकखाना भैरों, तहसील लहरिया सराय, जिला दरभंगा (बिहार) के रूप में हुई है। जांच में पता चला कि वर्ष 2012 में गणेश सहानी ने अपने साथी धरमेंद्र कुमार के साथ मिलकर कंडाघाट क्षेत्र में BSNL की 50 मीटर टेलीफोन तार चोरी की घटना को अंजाम दिया था। इस संबंध में आरोपी पर मामला दर्ज हुआ था। दोनों आरोपियों को तब गिरफ्तार किया गया था और माननीय न्यायालय से जमानत पर रिहा किया गया था।

मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान न्यायालय ने आरोपी गणेश सहानी को कई बार पेश होने के आदेश दिए, लेकिन वह बार-बार अनुपस्थित रहा। अंततः 28 अगस्त 2017 को उसे न्यायालय द्वारा उद्घोषित अपराधी घोषित कर दिया गया। उसके बाद पुलिस लगातार उसकी तलाश कर रही थी, लेकिन वह गिरफ्तारी से बचने के लिए लगातार अपने ठिकाने बदलता रहा। आखिरकार कंडाघाट पुलिस की सतर्कता और मजबूत सूचना तंत्र के चलते उसे देहरादून से धर दबोचा गया। गिरफ्तारी के बाद आरोपी को 20 जुलाई को माननीय न्यायालय में पेश किया जा रहा है। मामले की जांच अभी भी जारी है और पुलिस अन्य तथ्यों की भी गहराई से जांच कर रही है।

Based on a secret information, the team of Police Station Kandaghat has arrested the absconding accused who was absconding for 12 years from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. The accused has been identified as Ganesh Sahani (36) son of Suwai Sahani, resident of village Dehi, Post Office Bhairon, Tehsil Lahariya Sarai, District Darbhanga (Bihar). Investigation revealed that in the year 2012, Ganesh Sahani along with his partner Dharmendra Kumar had committed the crime of stealing 50 meters of telephone wire of BSNL in Kandaghat area. A case was registered against the accused in this regard. Both the accused were then arrested and released on bail from the Hon’ble Court.

During the hearing of the case, the court ordered the accused Ganesh Sahani to appear several times, but he remained absent repeatedly. Finally, on 28 August 2017, he was declared a proclaimed offender by the court. After that, the police was constantly searching for him, but he kept changing his hideouts to avoid arrest. Finally, due to the vigilance and strong information system of Kandaghat police, he was caught from Dehradun. After the arrest, the accused is being presented in the honorable court on July 20. The investigation of the case is still going on and the police is also investigating other facts in depth.
