जिला सिरमौर में बरसात के मौसम को देखते हुए प्रशासन ने बड़ा निर्णय लिया है। उपायुक्त एवं जिला आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण की अध्यक्ष प्रियंका वर्मा ने 31 अगस्त, 2025 तक जिले में पहाड़ियों की कटाई पर प्रतिबंध लगाने के आदेश जारी किए हैं। यह प्रतिबंध आपदा न्यूनीकरण और बहाली से इतर किसी भी प्रकार की गैर-जरूरी निर्माण गतिविधियों पर लागू होगा। उपायुक्त ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह निर्णय मानव जीवन, आवासीय क्षेत्रों और आवश्यक ढांचों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के साथ-साथ जिले की नाजुक पारिस्थितिकी को बचाने के उद्देश्य से लिया गया है। हालांकि, आपदा राहत कार्य, सड़कों की मरम्मत, पेयजल, विद्युत आपूर्ति और अन्य आपातकालीन सेवाओं से जुड़ी गतिविधियों को इस आदेश से छूट दी गई है। जिला प्रशासन ने संबंधित सभी विभागों जैसे कि सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्रालय, पांवटा साहिब स्थित पीआईयू के परियोजना निदेशक, उपमंडल मजिस्ट्रेटों सहित सभी विभागीय अधिकारियों को आदेशों का सख्ती से पालन सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए हैं। प्रशासन का कहना है कि बरसात के इस संवेदनशील मौसम में सतर्कता ही सबसे बड़ा बचाव है। ऐसे में अनियोजित कटान से होने वाले भूस्खलन और अन्य प्राकृतिक आपदाओं की आशंका को कम करने के लिए यह कदम आवश्यक है।

The administration has taken a big decision in view of the rainy season in Sirmaur district. Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority Chairperson Priyanka Verma has issued orders to ban hill cutting in the district till August 31, 2025. This ban will apply to any kind of non-essential construction activities other than disaster mitigation and restoration. The Deputy Commissioner clarified that this decision has been taken with the aim of ensuring the safety of human life, residential areas and essential structures as well as saving the fragile ecology of the district. However, activities related to disaster relief work, road repair, drinking water, power supply and other emergency services are exempted from this order. The district administration has directed all the concerned departments such as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Project Director of PIU located in Paonta Sahib, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and all departmental officers to ensure strict compliance of the orders. The administration says that vigilance is the biggest protection in this sensitive rainy season. In such a situation, this step is necessary to reduce the risk of landslides and other natural disasters caused by unplanned cutting.
