जिला सिरमौर में नशे के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे अभियान के तहत पुलिस को एक और बड़ी कामयाबी मिली है। पांवटा साहिब पुलिस की डिटेक्शन टीम ने एक गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर वार्ड नंबर 10 देवीनगर में रहने वाले पति-पत्नी को नशा तस्करी के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है।

प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार, विजय कुमार पुत्र करण कुमार और उसकी पत्नी आशा देवी, दोनों निवासी देवीनगर, अपने ही घर से स्मैक/हेरोइन बेचने का अवैध कारोबार चला रहे थे। पुलिस को जब इसकी पुख्ता सूचना मिली, तो डिटेक्शन टीम ने बिना देरी किए उनके घर पर दबिश दी।

तलाशी के दौरान पुलिस ने उनके कब्जे से 10.1 ग्राम स्मैक (हेरोइन) और ₹21,300 नकद बरामद किए, जो नशे की बिक्री से अर्जित राशि मानी जा रही है। आरोपियों के खिलाफ NDPS एक्ट के तहत थाना पांवटा साहिब में मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है।

पुलिस ने दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर आज माननीय अदालत में पेश किया, जहां से उन्हें पुलिस रिमांड पर भेजे जाने की प्रक्रिया चल रही है। पुलिस का कहना है कि इस मामले की गहनता से जांच की जा रही है और यह भी पता लगाया जा रहा है कि आरोपी नशे की सप्लाई कहां से लाते थे और किन लोगों को बेचते थे।
