मंडी जिला के सिराज, थुनाग और करसोग जैसे क्षेत्रों में हाल ही में आई बाढ़ से जान-माल का भारी नुकसान हुआ है। जहां कई परिवारों ने अपने प्रियजनों को खोया है, वहीं सैकड़ों लोग अपने घर, खेत और समूची संपत्ति गंवाकर बेसहारा हो गए हैं। ऐसे कठिन समय में समाज की नैतिक जिम्मेदारी बनती है कि वह पीड़ितों के साथ खड़ा हो। इसी भावना को चरितार्थ करते हुए सिरमौर जिले के आंज-भोज क्षेत्र के कलाथा गांव के समाजसेवी विकेश तोमर ने बाढ़ प्रभावितों की मदद के लिए 21,000 रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की है। विकेश तोमर इससे पहले भी समाज सेवा के क्षेत्र में सक्रिय रूप से कार्य करते रहे हैं। पिछले वर्ष उत्तराखंड में आपदा प्रभावित एक गांव में उन्होंने एक लाख रुपये की सहायता दी थी। वे न केवल आपदा के समय सहयोग करते हैं, बल्कि सामान्य दिनों में भी गरीबों की दवाई, राशन और बच्चों की पढ़ाई जैसी ज़रूरतों में सहायता उपलब्ध करवाते हैं। विकेश का मानना है कि समाज में हर व्यक्ति मदद कर सकता है बस शुरुआत करने की आवश्यकता होती है। उनकी इस पहल ने एक बार फिर यह सिद्ध किया है कि आपसी सहयोग और संवेदनशीलता से किसी भी संकट का मुकाबला किया जा सकता है।

The recent floods in areas like Siraj, Thunag, and Karsog in Mandi district have caused extensive loss of life and property. While many families have lost their loved ones, hundreds have been left homeless, losing their houses, farmland, and entire possessions. In such difficult times, it becomes a moral duty of society to stand by the affected. Upholding this spirit, social worker Vikesh Tomar from Kalatha village in the Aanj-Bhoj region of Sirmaur district has donated ₹21,000 in financial aid for the flood victims.Vikesh Tomar has been actively involved in social service for years. Last year, he donated ₹1 lakh to a disaster-affected village in Uttarakhand. He not only comes forward during disasters but also provides regular support to the underprivileged for medicines, food supplies, and children’s education. Vikesh believes that everyone in society can contribute — all it takes is the willingness to begin. His recent initiative once again proves that with mutual cooperation and compassion, any crisis can be overcome.
